This started out as a sketch for the Daily Sketch Challenge over at IFX, it developed into something more substantial. I've gone for a darker, more solemn depiction than is usual for this type of character. I completed this image for a weekly challenge at ImagineFX. I did something similar, tradionally, with airbrush some time ago. I was so petrified of damaging all of the delicate airbrush work with bubbles and waves and the like, that the painting remains unfinished to this day. Thank heavens for layers and previous saves, in Photshop. I painted this for an online Art Challenge at ImagineFX. I noticed it with only 3 hours till the deadline for entries was up. I fealt compelled to enter and this image flowed from my stylus with half an hour to spare. This is another image from my, The Dark Place, series, this being Sian all vamped up. This was my entry to the MyFX challenge #94 - Angelic.
I'm very happy with the resulting painting, because the last time I attempted an angel I made a right mess of the wings. I painted realistic eagle like feathers whereas I think big fluffy sumptuous feathers work much better. I've been told my work is soft but with no further explanation.
