I've gone for a darker, more solemn depiction than is usual for this type of character. She is a Sister of Battle from the Warhammer 40K universe.]]>

I did something similar, tradionally, with airbrush some time ago. I was so petrified of damaging all of the delicate airbrush work with bubbles and waves and the like, that the painting remains unfinished to this day. Thank heavens for layers and previous saves, in Photshop. This digital versionwas unaffected by the failed attempts at underwater effects.]]>

I have a love hate relationship with all my work and I'm finally coming around to liking this piece again after being disapointed with it for so long. I'm very happy with the resulting painting, because the last time I attempted an angel I made a right mess of the wings. I painted realistic eagle like feathers whereas I think big fluffy sumptuous feathers work much better. I've been told my work is soft but with no further explanation. I'm confounded by this remark..what does it mean?]]>
